How Our Team of Home Theater Specialists Makes You Our Top Priority
Start here to learn everything about Home Theater
In our last blog, we kicked off our three-part series examining why you should choose Bravo AV to build you the home theater you’ve been dreaming about for your house in the Northern New Jersey area. In this article, we continue our home theater installation blog series with how we at Bravo approach the design process in order to limit delays and cost overruns to ensure that the final product turns out exactly how you envisioned it.
Creating a Clear Picture of Your Home Theater Once you have decided to move forward with Bravo after our initial consultation, we will have a more detailed conversation about what your expectations for this room will be. This discussion will be focused on the factors of home theater design covered in our Knowledge Center article titled “Home Theater an Introduction” and delves a litter deeper into your vision than the “Theater Questionnaire” form. We will provide you feedback on your ideas and help you to best prioritize facets of your home theater, making it easier to place costs into the framework of your budget.
Assembling the Professional Team One critical aspect of any home theater installation is understanding that several professionals will be involved. While your home theater specialist might be the one handling the overall design of the cinema and helping you select the technologies, furniture, and acoustical features, there are several other contractors that will be involved in the process, as the diagram above shows. We are happy to work with contractors of your choice or we can assemble a group ourselves. Since we started building home theaters in 2006, we have worked with dozens of contractors. This experience gives us the two-fold benefit of seeing firsthand who does the best work but also how to efficiently work with any contractor you may select. At Bravo AV, we take pride in our communication with other project stakeholders, all the while keeping you in the loop throughout every phase of the project.
Functional Design Phase Once the team is assembled, we can begin to collaboratively plan our work. This will start with a site visit, during which measurements are collected and a detailed plan for the room starts to formulate. We will work with the architect to create a dimensioned shell plan to accommodate your acoustical needs. The projector and screen will be selected. Seating sight lines will be analyzed and seating arrangements will be established to meet your capacity goal. Exact locations will be worked out for the projector, screen, surround sound speakers, equipment rack, lighting, electrical sockets, and HVAC vents. Bravo presents and explains these details in technical documents that you sign off on before we move forward with the process.
Interior Design Phase – Acoustics and Aesthetics Together with the interior designer and architect, we will determine how to best balance acoustic performance and the style vision for the room in a way that fits your priorities. The interior designer and architect will develop drawings and mock ups and determine trim styles for the room. Custom chairs from our vendor Fortress Seating can be selected to fit your color scheme and comfort preferences. Outlet locations will be finalized with the electrician as the interior designer determines his or her final design. This information will be presented to you to sign off on before the project progresses to the next step.
Electronic System Design Phase In this phase of the project, we will select the appropriate electrical components with which to build your home theater system. We will perform electricity load analysis and coordinate with the electrician to ensure that the electrical system will be able to safely support your new theater system. Wiring diagrams will be drawn up. A control scheme and interface will be designed. A system design document will be drawn up that summarizes this information in a way that you can understand it, allowing you peace-of-mind when you sign off on the final step in our design process.
Start of Installation
Once we have completed the above design phases, our team will promptly begin construction on your theater so you can enjoy it as soon as possible. Our design process is structured to keep you informed and involved of our decisions so there are no misunderstandings or delays. We do not do projects halfway or allow any details to slip through the cracks. When you choose Bravo AV to build your home theater, you can feel confident that our design and project management methods will deliver to you a final product you can enjoy with your family for years.
