Home Theater Design Showcase Mountain Lakes, Morris County, NJ.

Bravo AV was invited to participate in a complete home remodel of a circa. 1920’s home on the water in Mountain Lakes.

The Challenge

The homeowner wished to create a state-of-the art home theater and music room—an oasis where their busy family could gather and decompress, away from the distractions of their fast-paced, demanding schedules. The structure—a charming, historic home—did not, however, feature the high ceilings or large basement spaces typically found in more modern construction. Instead, the architectural plans designated part of a garage and storage area with low, 8-foot ceilings for the project installation. A change in ceiling height at the middle of the room further complicated the situation.

Bravo AV Solution

Bravo AV is committed to delivering the optimal solution for every project. In this case, to mitigate the ceiling-height challenges in the room, Bravo AV brought in a jackhammer to drop the floor in the front of the room 16 inches, redid the footings on the house, and poured a new floor. While it was a big undertaking, the effort was well worthwhile: The first row of theater seats now sits on this newly created lower level, thereby ensuring proper sight lines for people sitting in all rows. The screen appears to float on a black screen wall, providing an immersive experience for the viewer. Elegant raised paneling and a rich, understated, color palette, complete the inviting space.

The Result

Bravo AV delivered a premium home theater experience: cinema-quality video with critical music listening capability and a clean, classic aesthetic. Every seat is the best seat in the house with an excellent sight line of the screen. The homeowner is beyond pleased with their new space—a haven for relaxation, reconnection, and recreation for the family.
