Introduction to Home Lighting Design from Bravo AV
Stage Your Home in the Best Light Possible
Start here to learn everything about Lutron Lighting.
When you walk into a room, light tends to set the mood. If you’re out for a night of dancing at a club, dim lighting and color enhance the mood alongside lively music. If you went to an elegant dinner beforehand, subdued lighting and candlelit tables set the mood there, as well. In your New Jersey home, the lighting is also a critical element of the overall design. Home lighting can spotlight a unique work of art, a shelf of prized first editions, or create a spa-like atmosphere in the master bath. The saying of “seeing things in a different light” speaks to the power of lighting. Moreover, lighting technology has undergone significant change just in the past few years. LED lighting is available in many types of fixtures and styles, and offers levels of control and customization more powerful than ever before. It doesn’t hurt that LED lighting is also 80% more efficient than incandescent technology, either, which is why Bravo AV is introducing home lighting design services, working hand in hand with you, your architect, builder, and designer to enable you to take full advantage of the latest lighting technology in your New Jersey home.
Healthier Lighting Humans have a circadian rhythm, and light affects our behavior. The circadian rhythm is the reason we naturally tend to sleep when it’s dark and are active during daylight hours. Modern LED lighting can simulate natural lighting in your home, with the ability to vary color temperature and intensity to help your body adjust to the day ahead. You can set lights with daylight temperature for waking up in the morning, then gradually fade lighting to warmer hues in the evening to wind down. If you use the “night mode” feature on your smartphone or tablet, the same concepts of intensity and color temperature are used to encourage more natural light exposure.
Design Options If you’re an automobile fan, you may have noticed the shift to LED lighting inside and outside cars. LED lights can be produced in many shapes and sizes not possible with incandescent or compact fluorescent technology. On cars, we have seen very creative designs in headlights and taillights in the past few years enabled by LEDs. In the home, the same creativity is flowing. LED strip lights, for example, can be used to great effect under kitchen cabinets or to illuminate shelves with decorative pieces. When we work hand in hand with your design and build professionals, we can present a variety of fixture options that enhance and customize your home in ways not available a few years ago. If you are planning a remodel, addition, or a completely new house, we’d love to show you all the latest lighting design options available for your Chester, New Jersey-area home.
